NT0612 : The Devil's Beef Tub

taken 14 years ago, near to Ericstane, Dumfries And Galloway, Great Britain

The Devil's Beef Tub.
The Devil's Beef Tub.
This dead end valley was used by reivers who herded stolen cattle here. A circular stone-walled sheepfold is just visible on the valley floor. The rolling hills with heather and grassland are typical of the Southern Uplands.
