Shining Cliff Wood is a remnant of a medieval hunting forest, mainly of ancient oak and birch and is designated as a SSSI. This southern section of the wood is managed and owned by the Grith Pioneers. The path shown, leads to a small tranquil lake, fed by Peatpits Brook.
