Bascule Bridge, Rotherhithe Street, London SE16
There were two of these bridges, which at times made Rotherhithe Street and Redriff Road an island. The second bridge is in Redriff Road and about 200 yards from Lower Road. The Redriff Road bridge was built in 1959 to replace an old, narrow wooden bridge. Both are now decorative features. See TQ3680 : Pageants Wharf Fire Station, Rotherhithe Street, London SE16 for additional information.
