Lochan - Deep Nick of Dromore
The line of granite humps forming the Clints of Dromore is only a few hundred metres at its highest but presents a fairly demanding challenge to the walker by virtue of the frequent ascents and descents required within a short distance. This photograph illustrates the deepest and steepest of these "mini valleys"and its accompanying small lake. The scale can be judged from the figure descending the "clint" in the foreground. The area is readily accessible at several points from the dismantled railway track running south-west from the Big Water of Fleet viaduct.
