William Walker meets Laura Ashley
Retaken a few days later, because I was not happy with my previous attempt here SU4829 : William Walker meets Laura Ashley.

William Walker was a diver who is famous for saving Winchester cathedral when, between 1906 and 1911, he spent every day below the east end of the cathedral in cold and dark water carrying out underpinning works. The pub, established in 1860, was subsequently renamed in his honour.
Laura Ashley was a clothing and furnishings designer who set up a chain of shops that are seen in virtually every British town. She is not known to have saved any cathedrals or have had a pub named after her.
