St John's Field
The name of the field according to the 1844 tithe map and most likely named after the parish it is in - St John (Without) - due to its proximity to a couple of old parish borders, the detached part of Chailey based arounf the manor of Warningore and that of the East Chiltington portion of Westmeston. Since 1934 the latter two have been combined in the parish of East Chiltington. Beechwood House lies in the distance.
