The only other pub in the Wilden area of Stourport-on-Severn closed many years ago and is now demolished. But despite having no local competition, The Rock Tavern has also now closed and is up for sale. This isn't perhaps surprising, as despite having been refurbished quite recently, it couldn't seem to make up its mind as to whether it wanted to be a pub or a restaurant or both. In the end it failed to establish a name for itself, and its location was not of the best. Whether it can be resurrected by new owners remains to be seen.
