The Great Hall from the Westgate
The Great Hall from the Westgate
Taken from the roof of the 12th and 14th century Westgate. The Great Hall, is the only other surviving building of Winchester Castle, which extended south from the Westgate through this whole area. The north doorway and one of the eight stained glass windows of the great hall can be seen. All the buildings to the right, are Victoria, part of the Hampshire County Council headquarters.
