Climbing Lady Hillingdon, Upton House gardens
The adjacent label read:
"ROSE
CLIMBING
LADY HILLINGDON"
but it was clearly climbing the brick retaining wall. This is on the terrace immediately above the kitchen garden. "The blooms are particularly elegant in autumn and have a rich tea scent ... the namesake of this rose, Lady Hillingdon, is chiefly remembered for her remark, "When my husband lies on top of me, I close my eyes and think of England." ('Climbing roses of the world' by Charles Quest-Ritson). The attribution is by no means certain. Link
