1GL bench mark and bolt on former Methodist Chapel
This bench mark and bolt is at the right hand side of the central door into the former Primitive Methodist Chapel on Welsh Row. The mark dates to the period 1851-1858 and is number 60 on the schedule for the First Geodetic Levelling survey between Newcastle under Lyme and Chester. According to the plaque above the door the chapel was built in 1840, however, it is now redundant and seems to be in the process of being redeveloped. For a 2006 photo of the building before it was sold see SJ6452 : Former Methodist Chapel, Welsh Row, W Nantwich
