RAF Halton Apprentices Memorial
RAF Halton Apprentices Memorial
The RAF Apprentice Scheme was founded in 1920 by Lord Trenchard, the 'father' of the RAF. The Halton Grove garden commemorates those trained at the School of Technical Training at RAF Halton, affectionately known as 'Trenchard's Brats'. The planting in the garden reflects the wheel-shaped RAF Halton badge. On the right is one of the many volunteers who give up their time to look after the arboretum.
