NT6663 : Hungry Snout
4 km from Cranshaws, Scottish Borders, Great Britain

Hungry Snout
The road was closed due to a jackknifed lorry on the downstream side of Hungry Snout. The road is covered in larch needles in the Autumn and traction traumas are common. The road is not the best route choice for HGVs, and I wonder if this is another victory for satellite navigation?
A disturbing aspect of the picture is the adoption of silver as a car colour by Lothian and Borders Police. This is stealth technology, in many light conditions this colour cannot be easily seen. No good plastering the sides with blue and yellow if your front elevation is hard to see. So much for setting a road safety example. At least this one was a) stationary and b) had the flashers on.
