Hop Pole Inn, 40 Friar Street

There used to be several pubs in Droitwich's historic Friar Street. Sadly most of them have gone, along with many old buildings. However two pubs remain, of which this is one. It is situated near the end of the street, just before it becomes a narrow pedestrians only path and then disappears in a tunnel under Saltway. The building itself is early 18th century, but with 17th century gables at the rear, which are now brick-faced. SO8963 : Hop Pole Inn pub sign, 40 Friar Street.
