SX4854 : Fishing vessels in Sutton Harbour

taken 39 years ago, near to Plymouth, Great Britain

Fishing vessels in Sutton Harbour
Fishing vessels in Sutton Harbour
Looking northward across Sutton Harbour, with what was then the fish market on the extreme left. The red-brick building on the skyline behind the church spire is what was then Plymouth Polytechnic, in Drakes Circus.

The PH designation on the external identification of the 3 boats in the foreground indicates they were registered with the port of Plymouth. PH122 was constructed in Plymouth in 1966; PH189 constructed in Kent, 1968 and PH144 constructed in Camaret, France in 1974. All three were of wooden construction.
