If the pilot sees the runway from this angle then he is in dire straits! He is much too low and unlike the computer version he will not have a second chance. The brightness of the moon will not help him either. Note the runway caravan to the port side of the runway threshold. The number designated to a runway as seen here denotes the magnetic direction in which the landing strip runs i.e. 050 degrees. Heathrow runway 28 would therefore run 280 degrees or almost east west.
