Civil Defence Memorial
Tribute to the 1.9 million who served in civil defence in World War II, of which nearly 7,000 died. The smaller stone on the right, commemorates the service provided by animals in the war. The memorial was unveiled by HRH Duke of Gloucester in 2008.
