This cotoneaster bush in a neighbour's garden has an exceptionally heavy crop of berries. Apparently, however, the birds are ignoring this bush entirely, while they feed quite happily on other similar bushes round about. I am hoping that there is no truth in the old saying about heavy crops of berries foretelling a hard winter.
