09:03 GMT No apologies for an almost identical picture to one taken four hours later - the light on this beautiful scene kept changing, and I didn't notice this image in my first trawl of the day's "work".

September is a particularly colourful month in the upper parts of this valley. This year the rowan trees have been especially abundantly covered in berries, adding brilliant colour to the developing autumnal palette. Prior to the day of this image, no rain had fallen for about two weeks.

This image was obtained from by the Tywi bridge, soon to be replaced. The popular mountain road between Tregaron and Abergwesyn will be closed there (for vehicles) for a fortnight, probably in October 2009.
