Part of the rich carving on the outer doorway of SX9583 : Kenton church, in which this detail can be seen. On the right the dripstone ends in a carved label stop in the form of a head. These are in Beer stone, contrasting with the red sandstone walls. Cherry & Pevsner date the porch as early C16, calling the church "the most ambitious ... in this neighbourhood". LinkExternal link
