Parsons Folly
Parsons Folly
Looking north-west from the top of Bredon Hill with the northern end of the Malvern Hills on the left. This two-storey stone tower is Parsons Folly, built in the mid-18th century by John Parsons V (1732–1805), MP and squire of Kemerton Court. He reputedly built this tower 39 feet tall in order to raise the summit of Bredon Hill to exactly 1,000 feet. Today it is stuffed with communications equipment and has a continuous hum from the air conditioning.
