10:25 GMT This byway, unsurfaced and sometimes rocky, yet "open to all traffic*" is climbing into part of the enormous Tywi Forest. It is also part of the Lôn Las Cymru long distance cycle route. There are several fords on the byway, some of which can be dangerous, even impassable after heavy rain.

* only four wheel drive vehicles and properly equipped motor-cycles can access the route, but it is inadvisable during flood conditions. Cyclists who don't object to a bit of rough and wet feet should also enjoy it.
