Ruin in Holmisdale
Ruin in Holmisdale
Holmisdale is a township in the district of Glendale. At one time, the area had a population of over 3,000. In the 1800s, landlords keen to use the land for grazing sheep evicted the crofters who lived here, and left their cottages to fall derelict.
Today, the resident population of Glendale is about 300.
The mountains in the background are Macleod's Tables.
