The Enderby wharf (now part of the Alcatel industrial site) has been restored as a sort of outdoor museum. The equipment shown here was for loading cables onto ships where they would be coiled on deck or in the hold. The gate was closed when I passed at a weekend, so I could only take photos through the fence.
