Driftway between Sloden and Alderhill Inclosures, New Forest
Driftway between Sloden and Alderhill Inclosures, New Forest
This view is looking along a track out of the Sloden Inclosure, across a driftway, and into the Alderhill Inclosure, with a bridge over the Latchmore Brook in the distance. The driftway allows commoners' stock to be herded from Fritham Plain to Latchmore Shade without entering the inclosures and avoiding the valley mires. On the left in the foreground is a pony pound.
