East Lodge, Swanland Manor
The lodge is situated on Kemp Road opposite the junction with Tranby Lane. Pevsner says "SWANLAND MANOR, built 1848-51, a large Jacobean house with shaped gables and mullioned windows, was demolished in 1935. Two former mid- to late C19 LODGES which echo its style survive on WEST LEYS ROAD and KEMP ROAD, white brick with shaped gables or dormers and tall stacks."
