Sea Clubrush on the Hadleigh Marshes
Sea Clubrush on the Hadleigh Marshes
Sea Clubrush (Scirpus maritimus) grows widely in brackish-water pools such as the borrow dykes behind the sea wall. This was growing in the recently re-established dykes following the reconstruction of the sea wall between Benfleet and Leigh. TQ7985 : Newly-established borrow dyke, Hadleigh Marshes shows the new borrow-dyke, with the clubrush on the landward bank. This closer view was taken the following year.
