This ancient "road" leads from Belvoir Road down into the village through Stathern woods. This section, between the road and the wood, is fairly level but the track drops away steeply as it descends down the side of the hill to the village, SK7830 : Toft's Lane, on Stathern Hill. It leads the weary traveller to the Red Lion, SK7731 : The Red Lion, Stathern, now an upmarket but excellent hostelry.
