View from the trig pillar on Hampton Ridge, New Forest
Looking towards the Pitts Wood Inclosure (scots pine trees on the left) from the trig pillar on Hampton Ridge. The gravel-capped ridge supports dry heathland, with ground cover of heather and the occasional gorse clump. The well-worn path exposes the bleached white gravel beneath.
