Scots pines above Loch Torridon
As with most other pine woods in the Highlands, these are the remnants of a forest that would once have covered a much wider area. A bit further down it is more thickly wooded, but the presence of deer now means that no natural regeneration takes place. The mountain in the background is Liathach.
