Hole House farm
Hole House is a valley-bottom farm on the headwaters of the South Tyne. Just below the bridge here is the canoeists' put-in for the Upper South Tyne gorge section down to Garrigill, but the water level proved to be way too low to paddle on the day this photo was taken, despite the damp weather. Like most spate becks, this one drops off very quickly and must be paddled pretty much whilst it is still raining.
