Built on the southern edge of the Hoe, Plymouth Dome bills itself as "An extraordinary journey through time" a place where you can "Experience Plymouth's historic past and discover the voyages and people who have set sail from Plymouth Sound and shaped the world." Smeaton's Tower, until 1882 the Eddystone lighthouse, is visible beyond the building.
