SO3275 : Distant view of Caer Caradoc
near to Chapel Lawn, Shropshire County, Great Britain

Distant view of Caer Caradoc
In the foreground is the River Redlake, tributary of the River Clun. Many neglected riverside alders in the Redlake Valley, originally coppiced for firewood and charcoal, have recently been lopped as part of Shropshire Hills AONB's Blue Remembered Hills project. The distinctive shape of Caer Caradoc, topped by a well-preserved Iron Age hill fort, is visible (although it is not in this grid square).
