New hall from old hall
New hall from old hall
Looking at Hardwick Hall from the courtyard of the Old Hall. Elizabeth Countess of Shrewsbury completed the new hall a mere seven years after her extensive improvements to the old hall were completed in 1590. Just shows what you can do when you're one of the richest people in the country.
