Inside Oldland Mill in 2009 since rebuilding
The Mill is at least 300years old and fell into disrepair in 1912. Since then there has been a steady but relentless effort by local people to get the mill refurbished and working again. The last 30years has led to this finally being done with the aid of grants and a lot of hard work by a dedicated number of volunteers. Everything done in the mill has been done by hand. You will see the top of the brake wheel in this picture which has wooden teeth made of apple wood. Each of these teeth was cut by hand as were the individual parts of the brake wheel.
