SO0021 : Tommy Jones Obelisk

taken 13 years ago, 4 km from Libanus, Powys, Great Britain

Tommy Jones Obelisk
Tommy Jones Obelisk
The inscription on the obelisk reads, "This obelisk marks the spot where the body of Tommy Jones, aged 5, was found. He lost his way between Cwm Llwch farm and the Login on the night of August 4th 1900. After an anxious search of 29 days his remains were discovered on September 1st. Erected by voluntary subscription."

This is a very wild and high spot on the Brecon Beacons, an awful place for a child on their own.
