NT1528 : Stone Grain Hope

taken 15 years ago, 4 km from Stanhope, Scottish Borders, Great Britain

Stone Grain Hope
Stone Grain Hope
Branch of upper Stanhope, the burn is lined with native trees in places, a rarity in the Southern Uplands. The word Hope means steepsided valley in Herefordshire, I presume it has a similar meaning here, where it is a common component of placenames.
