On Ben Griam Beg
On Ben Griam Beg
Approaching the ridge of this famous sandstone hill. Along with its neighbour the bulkier but slightly lower Ben Griam Mr, the hill is visible for long distances across the flat Flow Country. The northern side of the hill is in the Forsinard bird reserve and adds some hill species to the inhabitants list. We are a long way north here, the habitat is equivalent to 900m hills further south. After the bogs the crisp upland heath was welcome and the walking a delight.
