SP3379 : Illuminated stairwell, Belgrade Plaza
near to Coventry, Great Britain

Illuminated stairwell, Belgrade Plaza
The stairs of Leigh Mills car park. The fence to the left surrounds the works for the as yet incomplete Belgrade Plaza development.
The car park takes its name from a woollen mill producing items such as serge and worsted which formerly stood on the site. The mill's construction was financed by Lord Leigh and various other philanthropists in 1863 to provide work for those affected by the collapse of the silk weaving industry. It continued to produce woollen goods until its closure in the 1960s.
