TR3342 : Swingate military telecommunication station
near to Dover, Kent, Great Britain

Swingate military telecommunication station
The three steel towers were originally 350 ft tall but are now truncated. They supported the transmitting dipoles of the Chain Home RDF system (Link
). At time of photographing the towers supported cross-channel microwave links. The large black dishes communicated by tropospheric scatter. Although often described as part of the NATO Ace High network, it seems more likely that these were an RAF link to Lammersdorf in Germany (the most southerly Ace High station in Britain being TQ8258 : NATO "Ace High" station, Coldblow Lane, Friningham).
