The Boardwalk, Former Incinerator Site
The Boardwalk, Former Incinerator Site
Until it was demolished in the 1990s an incinerator plant stood on this site. It was built in the 1970s and one of my first jobs was to count the number and type of trees for the landscaping contract. Now the site is being developed into a nature reserve and here a wild flower meadow is crossed by a wooden walkway. It would be very peaceful if it were not for the A19 traffic high overhead.
