Foulk Stapleford, the River Gowy
Foulk Stapleford, the River Gowy
Looking upstream along the River Gowy on footpath 19 in Foulk Stapleford, just south of its junction with footpath 20. The river is partially canalised to contain its tendency to flood in winter across the meadows in the flood plain whose size belies the modest dimensions of the "river". Beeston Castle is visible on the hilltop in the distance.
