SE3674 : Bridge over the A1

taken 8 years ago, near to Rainton, North Yorkshire, Great Britain

Bridge over the A1
Bridge over the A1
This bridge was erected as a temporary measure circa 2005 as a link from Rainton towards Ripon. The roadway is single width controlled by lights. The bridge is likely to disappear soon as it does not appear wide enough to span the 6 lane motorway that is being constructed. Hopefully it will be replaced by a permanent structure.
Additional information, February 2011. The bridge is still standing and is a wide enough span to accommodate the six lane motorway beneath, which is good news for local residents.
