Imagining Silchester
Imagining Silchester
This is the view from a bridleway across the middle of the former Roman town of Silchester, known to them as Calleva Atrebatum. This was the site of the forum, the meeting place and market place of the Roman town. Today it is just farmland. Fortunately there is a contemporary photo on this information board SU6462 : Interpreting Silchester
