Captain Fraser's Folly
Captain Fraser's Folly
Overlooking Uig Bay.
Captain Fraser was the notorious Laird of Kilmuir who cleared crofters from the arable lands of Glen Connon to make way for sheep. His house, Uig Lodge, which stood near the shore of the bay and between the outflows of the rivers Rha and Connon was washed away in the great storm of 1877.
The tower was inhabited by a family up to the late 1950's
