William Rathbone's Statue, Sefton Park
A statue of William Rathbone V, a member of the famous Liverpool family which occupies a prominent position in Sefton Park overlooking the lake. Following the devastation of the cholera epidemic of 1832, he worked with his wife Elizabeth and Kitty Wilkinson to establish public baths and wash-houses in Liverpool in 1845 and was responsible for the opening of Liverpool Corporation Schools to all sects so that children of any denomination could benefit from them.
