SD7441 : Soldier in the fading light, Clitheroe

taken 8 years ago, near to Clitheroe, Lancashire, Great Britain

Soldier in the fading light, Clitheroe.
Soldier in the fading light, Clitheroe.
Clitheroe soldier at war memorial, very similar to the soldier at Slaidburn village. This photo was taken from the grounds of Clitheroe Castle at 4.23pm on a Wednesday 06/01/2010. Looking east one can see snow covered Pendle, the Big End of Pendle is sloping down to the left on the sky line. People sometimes say 'Pendle Hill' but the 'PEN' in Pendle means 'Hill'! So you people who say the former; well there's no need to repeat your self by saying 'Hill' twice !! But if you want to say 'Pendle Hill', that's just fine go ahead feel free.
