Pit Field
Pit Field
The name of this section of the field according to the 1839 tithe map which has been expanded into Wellcombe Bottom to include the other fields of the time, namely Ten Acres, Fifteen Acres and Noor Field. Some of these changes have only occurred in the last thirty years. The pit of which the field is named after is within the clump of trees at the top of the slope.
