End of truncated Dudley Canal, 1987
End of truncated Dudley Canal, 1987
Looking back from the very effective bar to further navigation, a steel bridge with one end dropped into the canal. Originally this No 2 Line of the Dudley Canal continued another 5 miles through Lapal Tunnel to connect with the Worcester & Birmingham Canal, but the tunnel was closed by persistent mining subsidence.
