Roedean Road
Roedean Road
The B2118 was constructed in 1897 to replace the former cliff top road that had been lost to coastal erosion at Black Rock. It remained the main road until 1932 when Marine Drive, the current A259, was constructed in tandem with the sea defences of the Undercliff Walk. The junction of the two roads marks the site of Roedean Farm whose buildings were demolished along with a former mill house to make way for the new route.
