Site of Black Rock Swimming Pool
An open air pool was built in 1936 on what was a terraced garden and continued in use before closing in 1978 and the cafe and changing rooms demolished to await development which they still do thirty years down the line after innumerable ideas and failed planning applications. An ice rink is the current plan but in the meantime the area is used as parking for the articulated lorries carrying the scenery for annual the Holiday on Ice extravaganza at the Brighton Centre as well as being an area graffiti artists can practice their trade. Beyond is the access road to enter Brighton Marina with a multi-storey car park to the right.
